Pick the right observation for the log. The clock is still running.
How many defects can your wheels find before the clock runs out?
Drive a camera crawler down a sewer main and log every defect you see. Start on stock OEM rubber, upgrade to TruGrit® wheels and find out how much more of the pipe you can inspect when your wheels grip.
Hold Up or W to drive. Ease off when the wheels start to slip, because a spinning wheel pulls far less than a gripping one. Watch the front wheels: when they spin and the pipe stops moving, you have lost your grip.
Press R to raise the camera and light arm and F to lower it. Watch the light beam move with it. Raised keeps the lens out of grease and water splash. Lowered grips better on climbs and slides under roots.
When a defect comes into view the prompt under the clock says so: press Space or L. If you drive past one, hold Down to back up to it and log it then. The crawler stops, you capture the frame and you choose what you found. A clear picture earns a bonus.
The OEM to TruGrit® challenge starts you on stock rubber and then puts you on TruGrit® wheels. Free race lets you pick any wheels and main and race the leaderboard.
Keyboard: Up or W drives, Down or S brakes and backs up, Left and Right or A and D steer across the pipe, R raises the camera arm and F lowers it, Space or L logs, 1 to 4 answers, V switches between riding on the crawler and the camera view, Esc pauses, M mutes. In menus the arrow keys move, Enter or Space selects and Esc goes back. A gamepad works too: the right trigger drives, A logs and selects, X moves the camera arm, B goes back. On a phone, use the on-screen pedals and the RAISE button, and drag sideways on the picture to steer.
Wheel ratings are game ratings for this challenge, not lab test results. The crawler and wheels are game renderings. Every run earns a grip bonus of up to 800 points: the less the wheels slip, the bigger it is.
